Racing in the Pilbara since 1902

The Port Hedland Turf Club has a long and proud history. Ever since our very first race meet in 1902, we’ve been entertaining the Pilbara’s racegoers every year with unforgettable racing events which are the highlight of the North-West’s social calendar. Ever since the Club’s inauguration well over a hundred years ago, it has played a vital role in the formation of Port Hedland’s sense of identity, from the early pioneer pastoralist days through to modern resource boom times. Check out our History Timeline for some of the fascinating stories over the years!
